He finally made his move to Stanford Coachworks in 2018 in which he has expanded his client base as he is now able to provide a vast range of vehicles and fantastic products. The flexibility of our products enables Paul to give his customers the best experience and design them their desired vehicle.

Paul’s Most Memorable Vehicle

In 2018 Paul designed a Fiat Ducato for Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity. This is Pauls most memorable vehicle as the charity were over the moon with the final product and feel that it makes a real difference in such a diverse and rural community. Bedford Rural Communities Charity provide wheelchair accessible minibuses to people who are unable to use public transport in the Bedford area due to a disability which is either permanent or temporary. The service is safe and accessible, all minibuses are equipped with a tail lift and friendly staff who are able to escort you from your door.

Mike Gasper – Based in our Stanford le Hope office, Essex

Mike’s Experience

Before coming to Stanford Coachworks, Mike was the Regional Manager for Irisbus, now better known as Iveco Bus UK, for 10 years where ironically the largest account that he managed was Stanford Coachworks. Prior to Iveco, Mike was part of the famous Ford Motor Company in Dagenham, just outside of London, and his main role was in sales. With 26 years of experience under his belt, Mike has had the chance to work for many companies which specialise in the sale of buses therefore he has a great understanding when choosing a vehicle to fit your specific transport needs.

Mike’s Most Memorable Vehicle

In 2012 Mike had the honour of designing a Vauxhall Movano for the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine (RCDM) which was sponsored by Help for Heroes. The vehicle is used at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where the RCDM have a specialist unit that focuses on injured service personnel when repatriated from war zones. This particular minibus is used to take patients for outings or to transport them to other facilities. Mike had the pleasure of meeting some of our brave service personnel on the wards and the dedicated staff that care for them which he found extremely overwhelming and rewarding.

John’s Most Memorable Vehicle

As John has been at Stanford Coachworks for 15 years it was too difficult for him to choose just one of his most memorable vehicles. In 2010 John received a large order for 106 wheelchair accessible Ford Transit Jumbo’s and 7 Volkswagen Crafters from West Midlands Special Needs Transport (also known as Accessible Transport Group). The vehicles are used as part of the organisations ‘ring and ride’ service which provides door to door transport for anyone with any form of disability or mobility problem in the West Midlands. The organisation now has over 72,000 registered users that benefit from the service. For more information on the Accessible Transport Group click here

In 2016 John designed a fleet of wheelchair accessible school minibuses for Glasgow City Council. The minibuses featured 16 removable seats in the rear of the vehicle and a single cab passenger seat in the front. Other features included an electric side step, an underfloor tail lift and foldable Jack and Jill signs.
