In today’s tough economic climate there is an increased need to reduce transport costs but without compromising on quality and value. Stanford Coachworks has responded to the challenge by introducing a new and exclusive service which caters to even the tightest budget.
This service is our ‘Vehicle Improvement Programme’ or VIP for short.
Top quality, cost-effective service.
This service is based upon extending the value and longevity of your current vehicle rather than replacing it. It comes with the Stanford Coachworks guarantee of quality and professionalism and to ISO9001 and health and safety standards.
Our VIP means vehicles are refurbished to your individual requirements and always with safety in mind. We use our many years of experience and knowledge within the coachworks industry to ensure that your vehicle is fit for purpose as well as maintaining its current value.
We understand that organisations are faced with tough decisions regarding their fleet vehicles and have responded to that by offering three base packages which are tailored to any size of budget.
All of these packages include a rigorous safety inspection, full valet, steam clean, fire safety check, lubrication and new decals where necessary. These features come as standard but the gold and silver packages include replacement floor covering, re-trimmed interiors, wheelchair lift servicing and a full wax and polish.
These are not included in these packages but can be included in your quotation if so desired. They include vehicle servicing and repair, new logos and lettering and a repaint of the entire vehicle. All of these plus the gold, silver and bronze packages are accompanied by a timescale for the refurbishment and suggestions for future improvements.
Stanford Coachworks supplies a FREE life hammer or belt cutter along with a signed certificate for all completed projects. This is why Stanford Coachworks has a reputation for attention to detail and excellent customer care.

The issue of safety is something which we take very seriously at Stanford Coachworks. We supply vehicles which contain the very latest in digital technology and with style and comfort in mind but safety is always at the forefront.
This equally applies to our bus conversions. All our vehicles are designed and built to ISO standards and are thoroughly tested to ensure that they safe and durable. The aim is to provide comfort and reliability but also value for money.
Every vehicle, whether that is a wheelchair accessible minibus, bus conversion, limousine or refurbished bus (as part of the vehicle improvement programme) has to meet health and safety regulations.
Stanford Coachworks vehicles are built to meet Department of Transport regulations governing certain aspects of vehicle safety. These include technical requirements for seatbelts fitted in coaches and minibuses, electronic stability control and the safety of wheelchair passengers in minibuses and other similar vehicles.
More information can be found at the Department for Transport website at: www.dft.gov.uk.
All of our minibuses, coaches and conversions are designed and supplied with either M1 or M2 IVA certification. All of our Mercedes and Volkswagen M2 type vehicles are supplied with British National Small Series Type Approval. We ensure that all applicable safety legislation is conformed to and supplied with any vehicle we convert before delivering it to the customer.
At Stanford Coachworks we supply vehicles which not only meet your requirements but are designed to carry passengers in safety and comfort at all times. We give you pride and confidence in your vehicle as well as reassurance about safety and security.
We never cut corners on safety. If a vehicle fails to meet the safety standards as part of quality control during production then it is rejected. Every vehicle is examined from top to bottom and has to meet ISO 9001/2000 standards before it is signed off for approval. This takes place during the production process and forms part of the warranty.
At Stanford Coachworks we have worked hard to build a solid reputation in our market place for quality vehicle conversions and are well known in the welfare industry for our wheelchair accessible buses and passenger transport minibuses.
Our reputation is also growing across the UK and further field, for luxury minicoaches, ambulance and emergency response vehicles and bespoke corporate requirements.
Because of this we have developed a series of values to stand by for all our customers and to build a true partnership relationship.
Our values are as follows:

Just wanted to say a massive thank you, for such a fabulous day at Brands Hatch last Tuesday. The students (and staff) are still buzzing from the spin on the track. It was a perfect outing to kick start the use of the new minibus!
The Orpheus Centre
Just would like say what a fantastic day I had at Brands Hatch yesterday. Did some great networking and was able to sort out some issues I had as I move my business forward. As for the hot lap what a experience, that fella in the blue car can really drive! Really enjoyed it thanks again.
Lester Russell, Aiming Hire Minibuses
Stanford Coachworks have been very helpful to our company over the years. There have been times that we have needed them to work miracles, and they have on many occasions. I personally have a very good relationship with Lee, Jess and many of their staff, to be honest. Whatever I need fixed or need parts for they either do the repair or point me in the right direction. Their attention to detail on any conversion we ask them to do is exceptional and of high quality. We have known the Stanford team for years now and can honestly say that we will carry on using them for many years to come and have a great working relationship.
Bradley Byrne, UK Specialist Ambulance Service
Over the years the professional relationship between the Lord's Taverners and Stanford Coachworks has developed into one of mutual trust and respect and we often look to Jess Rider and his team to provide guidance on the latest legislation, new modifications and adaptations that we can factor into the conversion of the transits to make them even better for the beneficiaries.
Nicky Pemberton, Lord's Taverners
The people at Stanford Coachworks are sincere, helpful and genuinely interested in their products. I have found that over the years they have made great strides in the development and finish of their products, and their aftercare is extremely good. I feel that they have grown into one of the best coachbuilders I have had the pleasure of doing business with and may they continue for another 20 years!
Dawn Cock, DABD
Stanford Coachworks were very approachable throughout the whole process, even now we’ve received some of the buses there are still constant updates being given on outstanding vehicles. Stanford Coachworks are a very up-front company, which works for me.
Sally Haines, Guildford Community Transport
What strikes you first about dealing with the team at Stanford Coachworks is their comprehensive knowledge of the law and materials available. We are always looking for ways to improve and modernise our designs and a design meeting at SCW always comes up with new ideas. The whole process is made easy with the open nature of the company and being able to talk to the many craftsmen they employ within their work environment means that you are assured about the work being carried out. We firmly believe that the quality and dedication that SCW puts in to their work has contributed greatly to our year on year success, with us now being Europe’s leading production vehicle specialist.
Vek McGuire, Civilised Car Hire
The relationship we have built means we have been able to give the highest standard of service to many organisations and we look forward to this

Morton Lake, Kelling Hospital
Just a quick email to say that we thoroughly enjoyed today at Brands Hatch. The various types of vehicles on show were excellent and it was very nice to see so many of your suppliers exhibiting their products. All of the refreshments that were supplied throughout the day were delicious (as you can tell by John’s figure). We both enjoyed the ‘hot laps’ although the driver taking me round decided to give me an extra thrill by spinning the car!Thank you for the invitation and we hope that it was a success for you.
Yvonne & John of Homesafe Travel
Thanks for putting on a great show today, Jim & I found it very useful in meeting existing clients & catching up with many suppliers.
Robert Kendall of The Procurement Partnership Ltd
I didn't get a chance to see you before we left, but thanks for the invitation. I had a really good time, especially in the Aston Martin! Obviously a great deal of effort and planning has gone in today’s event, I’m sure you’ll secure some future orders.
Paul Ramsden of Van Sales Executive
I would like to say a very BIG well done to all of you for the show yesterday, the preparation and planning paid off. I actually think this could be a start of something big and a yearly show possibly with more stands. I would also like to say a very big thank you for involving myself and UKSAS in the day and I know the people who I invited were very impressed with our equipment which says a lot for your build quality and also your other vehicles. I cannot emphasize enough how professional all your staff were throughout the whole day.
Little Mick of UK Specialist Ambulance Services
I just wanted to say a big “thank you” for yesterday’s event you put on. What a great success? Great venue, good exhibits, super nosh, fun hot laps –a great day out. It was particularly enjoyable for me, having been out of the main loop for 4.5 years now, to meet up with so many familiar faces from the industry. Fingers crossed you can do similar next year?
David Barratt of South Beds Dial-a-Ride

Keith Keen The Keen Group
We were very pleased with the service and customer support when choosing specifications for an appropriate mini-bus to meet our patients’ needs. David was very helpful and professional at all times. Patients who have travelled in the vehicle all say how much more comfortable it is. An added benefit is that members of the public have noticed us driving around and fellow road users seem to be more courteous!
Marian Turner of St Richard’s Hospice
We are a religious charity with minimal purchasing needs and little experience of these vehicles. We found Stanford Coachworks to be attentive, helpful and competitively priced. They were not “pushy” with respect to the purchase and kept us fully informed as to delivery. We have no hesitation in recommending them.
Kevin Ruxton, Sisters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary
Stanford Coachworks have supplied Age UK Doncaster with wheelchair accessible minibuses for several years and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Each coach we have acquired has been to the highest standard of finish and delivered within the agreed timescales at a competitive price. This is complemented by excellent after sales service.
Ian Piper, Finance Manager, Age UK Doncaster

Rob Ashford, Chief Executive Officer of The Thames Group
Readybus required an executive minibus to add to their fleet. The ‘Monaco’ by Stanford Coachworks addresses and exceeds our expectations for a vehicle for our corporate clients; we look forward to taking delivery.
James Vallance, Director of Readybus
From our first contact with Stanford Coachworks the help, advice and communication was first class. The minibus was built and has fitted our needs precisely; all the disabled members of our association say it was exactly what was required. Our passengers really like the side access door with the drop down step. When it was first used people were amazed at how easy it was to board using this step with the attached hand rails!
George Hill, Chairman and Trustee of Stow Disability Association
Stanford is always on top of their game with legislation, they provide industry C.O.I.F. certification to ensure the end customer has everything they need for the safety of the vehicle. In life you have to trust people, my customers trust me as their driver and I trust the guys at Stanford, they know what they are doing.
Charlie O’Neal, Owner of Colt Minibuses
We are really impressed with the quality of Stanford’s work. The specification was a little bespoke and it’s refreshing to know they can handle it...the end result is exactly as we hoped it would be.
Mark Drury, Buzzlines Contract Manager
When news of the minibus sponsorship came in from the Club we immediately thought of Stanford Coachworks because of our existing relationship with them and their excellent quality conversions.
Liam McCarthy,St Ann’s Hospice Finance Director
Our vehicle was old...it needed a complete face lift and an improved, updated interior. We went for the Gold package...the whole vehicle was completely restored and repainted, to our specifications, giving it a fresh new appearance...With very little capital available, refurbishment was a cost effective solution, saving £1000’s compared to a new bus and we once again can give our customers a comfortable fresh environment for many more years.
George Brown, Bus Manager for Melksham Council of Community Service (MCCS)
