As 2021 draws to a close, we would like to say thank you to all of our valued clients, both new and returning, for their continued support throughout the year. Although it has been a strange 2021, with worldwide vehicle shortages and an ongoing global pandemic, your much appreciated custom and the hard work of our excellent team has helped us pull through. We are incredibly excited to see what 2022 has in store and we wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. See you in 2022!

2021 - Our most memorable bits!
In 2021 we were honoured to convert a very special minibus for the Lord’s Taverners in memory of one of Stanford’s own - Jonny Wiggins.
We welcomed a brand-new member to the Stanford Coachworks sales team! Nigel Povey now represents SCW in the North of England.
This year we were excited to see the return of shows! We exhibited two new conversions, a Mercedes Sprinter and a Peugeot Boxer at the 2021 CV show.
With the demand for medical service vehicles on the rise due to COVID, we converted some bespoke minibuses this year, including a mobile doctors clinic!
A Custom Christmas Present for a Hampshire Family
At Stanford Coachworks, we believe that wheelchair accessible minibuses should be far from boring. Whether it be bold colours, exciting patterns or executive exterior features, we want our disabled clients to enjoy using each and every one of our custom-built vehicles.
Our latest wheelchair accessible minibus is a little more individual and has been designed specifically for a family in Hampshire who wanted something special for their disabled son, Jack. The Farrugia family required a bespoke accessible conversion, similar to a high end car, which can provide a comfortable family travel environment.
Jack and his family love football, particularly Portsmouth, and regularly support their favourite team at the home ground, Fratton Park. Therefore, the new vehicle must be large enough to accommodate Jack’s specialist wheelchair plus additional passengers however, still be small enough to easily park and manoeuvre.
After deciding on a metallic black L2H2 Ford Transit Custom, we incorporated a number of features from our luxury Monaco conversions including colour changing roof lights, smart televisions with Apple TVs and a bluetooth soundbar system. Two New Tour Buses for Ooosh Tours
One of the SCW build teams has been incredibly busy this month converting two brand-new bespoke splitter buses for a returning tour bus client.
Ooosh Tours, who are based in Brighton, began their touring business in 2008 and now have over 20 vehicles that are available to hire with or without a driver. Since relocating to a larger premises in 2015, Ooosh Tours also began offering additional services such as equipment and rehearsal room hire. After the industry’s reopening post-lockdown, Ooosh saw a mass influx in business resulting in them requiring another two bespoke Stanfords Mercedes Sprinter conversions.
When designing their previous vehicles, we worked closely with Ooosh Tours to help create a bespoke specification which meets all of their requirements. Their two new vehicles have been converted to this same specification and are again based on L3H2 Mercedes Sprinters finished in blue metallic paint to match their previous splitters. To cater for all of their self-drive clients, one of the new vehicles features automatic transmission and the other, manual transmission. The custom Sprinters are split into two sections - a comfortable passenger saloon in the front for touring entertainers and a large equipment storage area in the rear.
