Earlier this month, we received our first Ford Tourneo Connect and we cannot wait to begin converting it into one of our bespoke wheelchair accessible vehicles for a very lucky customer. The Ford Tourneo Connect joins the likes of our other small WAV conversions which includes the Citroen Berlingo, Ford Transit Custom, Volkswagen Transporter, Mercedes V-Class & Vito and Renault Trafic.

So, what’s included in the new Ford Tourneo Connect?

  • The Ford Tourneo Connect can facilitate up to four seated passengers and includes fold-away tables in the rear

  • Spacious front cabin which features Ford’s new digital dashboard

  • Large centre touchscreen which displays a variety of vehicle information

  • Space for one passenger using a wheelchair once the Stanford Coachworks conversion is complete.

Full conversion coming very soon!

SVS add another Stanfords conversion to their fleet

We have been back to work with our long-term clients, Specialist Vehicle Sales and Hire, to supply the medical industry with another bespoke PTS vehicle.

About SVS…

Much alike Stanford Coachworks, SVS are a family-run business who pride themselves on quality and excellent personal service. The company have over 70-years of industry knowledge and work with a range of charities, the NHS, health care services and individuals. Since working with SVS we have converted a number of specialist medical service vehicles on a whole range of chassis.

We work closely with SVS throughout each build process to ensure that their vehicles include all of the latest high-quality medical equipment.

Their latest conversion is based on a L3H2 Renault Master and features a colourful blue wipe clean interior. SVS opted for a four rear saloon passenger seat configuration with space for one stretcher and each passenger seat features either tip up bases or turn and fold functions. This type of seating was included to help maximise space in the rear saloon for health professionals to care for patients whilst on board.

  • Custom storage compartments & overhead lockers

  • Piped oxygen & oxygen bottle storage points

The bespoke Stanfords touch

This premium accessible minibus is finished in a metallic paint and features limo tinted rear windows and a discrete internal tail lift.

At Stanford Coachworks, we believe that wheelchair accessible vehicles don’t have to be boring. Many of our clients request that their minibus does not magnify the fact that it is wheelchair accessible, so we work hard to ensure that these vehicles resemble more of a premium mini coach.

Many of our private clients, in particular families, require a wheelchair accessible vehicle as their main mode of transport, therefore we feel that it is important that they too can enjoy a number of bespoke features to make each passenger as comfortable as possible. Take a look at some of these bespoke features by clicking the images below!

Ambient LED colour changing roof lighting.

Custom stitch premium passenger seats.

Personalised embroidered head rests.

Fold-down televisions and on board Wi-Fi.

How do you ensure that your minibuses do not magnify wheelchair accessibility?

  • Limo tinted windows - Rear windows can be limo tinted to ensure maximum passenger privacy.

  • Internal tail lifts - We have a range of tail lifts that can be fitted inside of the vehicle. Take a look at our Super Flat Floor range too as this compromises of an external tail lift which is hidden between the SCW Super Flat Floor and the vehicle’s original floor.

  • Premium external features - We can include premium alloys, body kits and other external features to give the minibuses a more sporty look.

This accessible Mercedes Sprinter is part of our ultra-luxury Monaco range and features a sporty body kit.

This Mercedes Sprinter features our premium alloys.

What bespoke features can you include inside of the minibuses?

  • Ambient LED colour changing lighting

  • Premium passenger seating with a choice of custom stitching and piping in a variety of colours

  • Embroidered head rests

  • Fold-down televisions

  • On-board Wi-Fi systems
