New Minibuses for the Lord’s Taverners

This month we have had the pleasure of working with our friends at Essex Ford to convert multiple Ford Transits for our long-term clients The Lord’s Taverners.

The Lord’s Taverners are a leading youth and disability charity dedicated to empowering young people through cricket. The charity provides young disabled individuals with the opportunity to compete in sporting events and learn whilst making new friends. We have been supplying The Lord’s Taverners with their iconic green minibuses for over 20 years now and our specially adapted minibuses allow a number of SEN schools across the UK to give their students the chance to engage in a range of sporting and recreational activities within their local community.

The Latest Conversions

The Lord’s Taverners newest range of conversions include both wheelchair accessible minibuses and non-accessible minibuses that have been designed specifically to meet each of the charity’s sponsored schools transport requirements. Take a more in depth look at one of the charity’s latest wheelchair accessible minibuses that we converted earlier this month below.

During this time the Stanford Coachworks team have also taken part in multiple fundraising events to help support the charity. Some of these events have included numerous fantastic charity evenings, our exhilarating Brands Hatch expo days where Pupils and teachers had the chance to experience a hot lap in a race car, and running the famous London Marathon - twice!

  • Base Vehicle

    Converted on the Ford Transit Jumbo L4H3 model.

  • Passenger Capacity

    Up to 15 passengers or 3 wheelchairs with seats removed.

  • Interior Design

    Full wipe clean passenger seating.

  • Wheelchair Accessibility

    Underfloor tail lift fitted at rear of vehicle.

  • Rear Saloon Access

    Large pedal operated side step fitted below door.

  • Passenger Lighting

    LED blue / white passenger saloon lighting.

We would like to thank The Lord’s Taverners and Essex Ford for their custom over the years and it has been an honour to witness first-hand some of the fantastic work that the charity carries out. We look forward to supplying more of The Lord’s Taverners schools with specialist minibuses in the upcoming months.

Stanford Coachworks Conversions - Built to Last!

We had a surprise visit from one of our customers at Luxury Hire earlier this month who bought along his immaculate 18-year old Stanfords Volkswagen Crafter LT46. It was fantastic to see how George at Luxury Hire had taken care of his Stanfords conversion that is still hard at work and available to hire today. This Volkswagen LT46 is the perfect example of how our high-quality conversions are truly built to last!

George of Luxury Hire purchased the Volkswagen from us 18-years ago and since then it’s traveled over half a million miles! It was on display as our demo vehicle at the Birmingham Bus and Coach show. The inside of George’s minibus remains pristine after 18-years of work.

Meet Luis!

Job role: Valeting all of the latest Stanford Coachworks conversions.

Hobbies: During weekends I really enjoy attending sporting events especially cricket matches and football games. I also enjoy travelling with my friends and family.

Favourite conversion: My favourite conversion so far has to be the latest Monaco Sprinter. It had an all black interior with TV’s, a PS5 and an LED starlight roof! Although they take a lot longer to valet, I really enjoy working on these types of conversions as they are so different from everything else.
