Lights, Camera, Action! Behind the Scenes of the Two Production Vehicles in Build at Stanfords…
At Stanford Coachworks, we currently have two brand-new production vehicles in build with our talented coachbuilding teams. Our production vehicles are entirely bespoke conversions that are individually built to meet all of our clients specific requirements. During the process, we work closely with our clients to ensure that their vehicle includes everything they need, from fold away dressing tables with smart privacy glass to comfortable, entertainment-filled passenger cabins.
Production Vehicle No. 1
In build with Keith and Craig is the first vehicle which is being converted for a returning client who is based in Brighton. This splitter van will feature a passenger compartment in the front and a large boot area with custom storage compartments in the rear designed for transporting specialist production equipment.
Production Vehicle No. 2
Our second vehicle, that has just entered the workshop to be converted by Rick and Steve, is for one of our long-term clients Civilised Car Hire. Their production vehicle will follow a similar specification to their previous conversions and is set to include a wide variety of on-board entertainment such as Apple TV, Wi-Fi and a Bluetooth surround sound system.
Be sure to read next months newsletter for photos of the finished vehicles and to find out more about them.

Smaller Sprinters by Stanfords
Set on a Mercedes Sprinter conversion but worried that it may be too large for your organisation? We offer our bespoke wheelchair accessible conversions on the L2H2 Sprinter model which could be perfect for you! Even though the base vehicle is considerably smaller than the L3 and L4 models, these minibus conversions can still seat up to 8 passengers or 3 wheelchairs with seats removed.
Benefits of smaller minibuses:
No requirement for drivers to hold a D1 driving licence due to the size and seating capacity of the vehicle. For more information regarding D1 driving licences, please click here.
Being a smaller vehicle, L2H2 Sprinters are easier to manoeuvre
Many features from our larger conversions can be included in our L2H2 Mercedes Sprinter conversions
Easier for organisations to park and store
Able to comfortably transport multiple wheelchairs
What features can be included in Stanfords smaller Sprinter conversions?
Choice of internal or external tail lifts
Choice of manual or electric side steps
Wide variety of interior trims and seating styles to choose from (eg: moquette / wipe clean / custom stitch)
Interior design can be designed to match organisations personalised colour schemes
Numerous seating layout options
Option for rear saloon heating and air conditioning
Choice of standard or colour changing LED interior roof lighting
Option for exterior decals
15 Peugeot Boxers for a Community Transport Charity
Last month we gave you a sneak peek into our latest fleet of vehicles in build with one of the SCW conversion teams. The first group of minibuses are now complete and are being delivered regularly to the charity by the newest member of our Stanfords sales team, Nigel.
All 15 Peugeot Boxers have been converted for a charity that supports providers of Community Transport across the UK. Each minibus will be used by different organisation’s schemes to provide community-led accessible transport to vulnerable people, often who are isolated, elderly or disabled. Typical services for the minibuses may include community bus services, school transport, hospital transport and dial a ride schemes.
Based on L4H2 Peugeot Boxers, these white minibuses can facilitate up to 16 seated passengers or 4 wheelchairs with seats removed. Access to the rear saloon can be achieved via the side load door which when opened, retracts a side step.
At Stanford Coachworks we pride ourselves on our bespoke builds so we were excited to add a personalised touch to this fleet. Instead of the usual Stanfords S on the modesty screen, we have embroidered the charity’s logo onto a suede plaque and have positioned it at the entrance.
We would like to say a huge thank you to the charity for their order and we hope that each minibus helps benefit the Community Transport schemes that will be using them.

All special features in these conversions are stringently tested and conformed to the latest legislation and health & safety regulations. Our latest conversion from this range is a brand-new Peugeot Boxer PTS ambulance.
This PTS ambulance is one of two, converted for a privately-owned medical service company who provide a professional patient transport service. The company are based in North and West Yorkshire but offer their 24/7 services to private patients, NHS trusts and private hospitals throughout the UK. These Stanfords PTS’s will be used to support a wide range of different services including outpatient appointment transfers, retirement / nursing home transfers, urgent collection and delivery of organs / bloods / tissues and wheelchair accessible transport.

Inside, the vehicles have been trimmed fully in wipe clean material with colourful blue accents and both include piped oxygen, a winch, overhead lockable storage racks, a heady-duty alloy ramp and more…
