The London Borough of Redbridge’s latest minibuses

We have been converting wheelchair accessible vehicles for the London Borough of Redbridge for over 20 years now and during this time, we have worked closely with them to design a specification which works perfectly for their passenger transport and mobility services.

Secure Cells & PTS’ for SVS

One of our long-term clients, Specialist Vehicle Sales & Hire, has been returning to Stanford Coachworks for the past 25 years. During this time we have completed conversions on a number of bespoke vehicles with customised specifications, well-trusted by their clients.

Specialist Vehicle Sales and Hire (SVS) are a professional family-run business who focus on providing a variety of medical service vehicles and specific ambulance services to a range of NHS, private medical and individual organisations. With ever-expanding fleet, SVS are committed to offering the latest innovative vehicles to their clients - that’s where we’re here to help!

This October, we competed conversions on two secure cell Renault Masters and a brand-new PTS ambulance. With each conversion, we work closely with SVS to update their specification, where required, using feedback from those who actually use the vehicle.

Secure Cell Vehicle Conversions

Our secure cell vehicle conversions are designed to specifically transport high-risk mental health patients who could pose potential danger to themselves or others. During the design process, we utilised SVS’ 70-years of industry knowledge to supply a vehicle which provides an appropriate level of protection and care according to degree of threat.

Both of SVS’ new cells are based on MM35 dci Renault Masters and feature a split rear configuration. The front half is entirely lined with hard-wearing wipe clean material and includes a combination of five forward and rearward-facing passenger seats. In the rear, we have installed a secure cell unit which can safely facilitate one patient.

PTS Ambulance Conversion

Specialist Vehicle Sales and Hire also offer a range of PTS ambulances, available to purchase or hire, for both long and short-term agreements. These vehicles are generally used by SVS’ clients as part of various non-emergency patient transport services. These services provide personal door to door transport to patients requiring wheelchair or stretcher facilities.

Their latest PTS conversions is based on a Renault Master LM35 dci and includes four passenger seats, space for a single wheelchair or a stretcher. A number of useful lockable compartments have also been installed along with piped oxygen, oxygen bottle storage points, a luggage pen, a protective driver’s screen, a heavy-duty fold-out ramp and more…
