In the Spotlight: Mobile Assessment Units

With the demand for health services on the rise, mobile assessment units are becoming an increasingly popular choice for many health care organisations to help provide that initial first stage of care.

What is a Mobile Assessment Unit?

The Stanford Coachworks Mobile Assessment Unit conversion is designed to help relieve pressure from vital services. When put to work with a fully staffed medical team, these specialist conversions offer a safe and calming environment that is also able to respond to nearby emergencies if required.

Inside, these vehicles feature a premium interior finish complete with ambient lighting to create a relaxed non-clinical feel. Unlike a hospital or clinic, the mobile assessment unit can be driven all across the country to easily reach those in need.

The Design

Our Mobile Assessment Units are bespoke conversions, meaning that our flexible design approach allows us to tailor each individual vehicle around our client’s organisation and requirements. Popular options include a full wipe clean interior, a conference style seating arrangement a large locker with a fold-up table to create sufficient work desk space, overhead storage lockers and passenger cabin heating and air conditioning.

Based on the L3H2 Peugeot Boxer, our latest conversion can facilitate up to 5 passengers in the rear saloon and 1 passenger plus driver in the front. Although upholstered in wipe clean materials, we aimed to achieve a non-clinical environment for patients by using a colourful blue and grey colour scheme paired with ambient colour changing LED roof lights. For passenger and staff safety, a perspex screen has been installed into the front bulkhead, along with an internal CCTV system and two panic buttons. For emergencies, the vehicle is also fitted with blue lights and sirens.
