Two New Red Buses for Wandsworth Community Transport

This month we have had the pleasure of converting two new wheelchair accessible minibuses for one of our long-standing clients, Wandsworth Community Transport. We first supplied Wandsworth CT with a minibus back in 2003 (over 20 years ago!) and we have been working together ever since to help them grow their fleet of accessible minibuses. All of their minibuses are used to support individuals in their local community who require specialist transport services.

Who are Wandsworth Community Transport?

In addition to this, the charity also runs Wandsworth Shopmobility, a shopping shuttle and regular outings for elderly and disabled passengers.

For organisations looking to gain specialist training for staff members who transport clients, Wandsworth CT provides high-standard MIDAS and passenger assistant training services along with additional training for those who are looking to gain their D1 minibus driving licence. The Stanfords Conversion

Take a look at the images below to see how we converted Wandsworth CT’s new wheelchair accessible minibuses.

Base Vehicle

Both of Wandsworth CT’s conversions are based on the Mercedes Sprinter L3H2 model and are finished in striking red to match their organisation’s colours.

Passenger Capacity

The vehicles can facilitate up to 16 seated passengers or 5 wheelchairs. All seats are fitted with removable fixings and some seats with tip / fold functions.

Interior Design

Each vehicle is finished in Wandsworth CT’s chosen grey patterned moquette and includes a range of high-visibility yellow features such as grab handles and headrests.

SCW Fold-Out Low-Entry Side Step

These conversions feature our exclusive fold-out low-entry side step which allows easy assisted access for Wandsworth CT’s clients.

Wheelchair Access

For passengers using wheelchairs, both vehicles are fully accessible and have been fitted with an underfloor tail lift. Upper cant rail and side wall tracking has also been included.

Passenger Comfort

To keep Wandsworth CT’s passengers comfortable, both vehicles feature rear saloon independent heating, air conditioning and LED bright white / comfort blue lighting.

Safety

For the safety of all passengers and drivers, both vehicles have been fitted with both internal and external CCTV camera systems. This is a favoured option with all their minibuses.
